Position Information

Position Title Leasing Assistant

Department Leasing & Marketing

Employment Type Full Time

Work Schedule (Days/Hours) Approximately 40 hours per week
Some evenings and weekends required
Pay based on experience

Summary of Position Under the general supervision of the Property Manager, the Leasing Assistant will coordinate and manage all responsibilities related to seeking new leases for all residential properties.

Job Duties

Responsibilities

● Present properties and provided amenities in a positive light to prospective tenants
● Schedule and attend tours with prospective tenants of the properties managed by LY Property Management
● Advertise available properties using a variety of media and promoting materials
● Determine the needs and living standards of prospect customers and make suggestions for building upgrades as needed
● Know schedule of local events and attend as needed
● Spend time on campus, posting fliers and passing out promotional items
● Stay knowledgeable of the property market status
● Provide information on all aspects of properties (expansion, zoning, crime, etc)
● Ensure proper maintenance and inspect properties periodically
● Negotiate leasing terms and conditions and close deals
● Execute leases with incoming tenants
● Maintain tenant files and Buildium portal accounts
● Manage the general email account, responding to apartment inquiry emails and directing all other incoming emails to the correct staff member

Community Relations

● Coordinate outreach with interns/marketing team for downtown and campus events efforts
● Communicate daily with Resident Assistants and interns regarding the wellbeing of the current tenants
● Communicate regularly with prospective tenants.
● Communicate regularly partnerships such as, YBI, YSU, downtown restaurants, other property owners and property managers, City Economic Development Office, Mill Creek Metroparks, Covelli Convention Center, local theatres and institutes.

● Demonstrate ability to diffuse and respond to customer concerns to avoid escalation of the problem.
● Successfully pass drug test.
